International Pediatric AIDS Initiative, as
part of SECURE THE FUTURE, is coordinating a nurse
education and physician exchange program between the five
African countries and the U.S. |

Catholic
Medical Mission Board (CMMB):
Since its founding in 1928, Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB)
has addressed the dual burden of poverty and sickness. Through
partnerships with other organizations, CMMB makes health care
available to the world's needy by providing medical shipments,
community health care training, programs for disease control
and eradication, medical volunteer placements, and emergency
assistance. |

The
Center for Interdisciplinary
Research on AIDS: Located
in the School of Public Health at Yale University, the Center
for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS supports the conduct
of interdisciplinary research focused on the prevention of
HIV infection and the reduction of negative consequences of
HIV disease in vulnerable and underserved populations nationally
and abroad. CIRA has established a Monitoring
and Evaluation Unit (MEU) for the Secure the Future initiative
to manage the monitoring and evaluation of projects and build
capacity in this area.

Harvard
AIDS Institute:
The Harvard AIDS Institute in Boston, Massachusetts, is dedicated
to conducting and catalyzing research to end the worldwide
HIV/AIDS epidemic. The Harvard AIDS Institute was created
in 1988 to expedite and expand the already substantial amount
of AIDS research conducted at Harvard University and its affiliated
hospitals. |

MEDUNSA:
(the Medical University of Southern Africa): With schools of
medicine, dentistry, basic sciences, pharmacy and public health,
Pretoria-based MEDUNSA is the largest health sciences academic
institution in Africa. MEDUNSA's mission is to empower the educationally
disadvantaged community of southern Africa by providing excellent
community-oriented tertiary education, training and research
in health and related sciences, and to promote services at all
levels of health care in the community. |
